Heli Barck syntyi Järvi-Suomessa, mutta kasvoi Vantaalla.
Hän on asunut useissa Euroopan kaupungeissa ja pääsi äskettäin työskentelemään ”La Ira de Dios” -taiteilijaresidenssiin Buenos Airesiin, Argentiinaan.
Vuoden 2016 keväällä ”Mustangien mailla” -kuvasarjaa tehdessään valokuvaaja kulki yksin Kalifornian ja Nevadan harvaan asutuilla alueilla, autioituneissa kylissä, aavikoilla ja etsi villejä mustangeja, joista osa on nyt otettu kiinni.
Hiljattain hän jatkoi saman aiheen dokumentointia Suomessa: kuinka Amerikan villihevosia oli päätynyt adoption kautta Suomeen, Inariin. Patricia Seppälän säätiö lähti tukemaan projektia 2022.
Heli kuvaa mieluiten luonnonvalossa, tai käyttää yksinkertaista valonlähdettä. Arkiset paikat ja autenttiset tilanteet muuttuvat linssin lävitse usein unenomaisiksi kuviksi. Ne muistuttavat joskus maalauksia tai elokuvakohtauksia.
Taiteilijan teoksia on ollut esillä Fusion-galleriassa Torinossa, Italiassa, Kulttuurien museossa Helsingissä, Suomen valokuvataiteen museossa sekä taidemessuilla Saksassa, Tanskassa ja Ranskassa.
Yksi teoksista on osa merkittävää Timo Miettisen taidekokoelmaa. Samaan kokoelmaan kuuluu mm. Salvador Dalín, Andy Warholin, Helene Schjerfbeckin ja Albert Edelfeltin töitä.
Barck opiskeli valokuvausta pääaineenaan ja valmistui taiteiden kandidaatiksi Helsingissä, Taideteollisesta korkeakoulusta, joka on nykyään osa Aalto-yliopistoa.

Heli Barck was born in Finnish Lakeland and raised in Southern Finland.
She now has resided in multiple cities across Europe and she recently took the opportunity to work in the residency of “La Ira de Dios” in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Through her lens the most common places and authentic situations often turn into dreamlike images, resembling cinematic scenes or paintings.
With “ The land of Mustangs” -series the photographer travelled alone from Nevada to California in sparsely populated areas, through ghost towns and deserts, photographing wild mustangs, or those who used to be wild and now live in captivity.
The project continued 2022 by documenting how these wild horses ended up to Northern Finland, to Inari. The project is now supported by the Foundation of Patricia Seppälä, Finland.
Heli Barck`s works have been exhibited at the Fusion gallery in Turin, Italy, The Museum of Cultures in Helsinki, The Finnish Museum of Photography, and in Art Fairs in Germany, Denmark and France.
One of her art works is a part of the collection of Timo Miettinen, who is a notable Finnish art collector. Miettinen collection includes works from Salvador Dalí, Andy Warhol and Helene Schjerfbeck.
Barck majored in photography and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Art and Design (nowadays a part of Aalto University), Helsinki, Finland.
